  • Founded the famous Wizards Program of online supplemental instructors at Mercy College and helped start a similar program at the State University of Illinois at Springfield
  • Won a Sloan-C Award, the most prestigious prize in online learning, in 2002
  • Listed as a Consultant on Online Learning by the Sloan Consortium, Nitron Advisors, The Round Table Group, and Decade Consulting
  • Founder of H-OEH, devoted to online education in the Humanities
  • Initiated and led efforts in Sloan-C to provide faculty training and certification in online teaching
  • Worked for seven years as Director of Online Research Development and Training at Mercy College
  • Guest Edited issue On the Horizon, devoted to storytelling in higher education, appearing October 2006
  • Trained in use of the Quality Matters Rubric to improve online courses
  • Currently Teaching online for Mercy College, the University without Walls at Skidmore College, and State University of Illinois at Springfield
